A basic camping safari in Tanzania is an affordable and adventurous way to experience the country’s incredible wildlife while staying in public campsites inside national parks. These safaris are budget-friendly but still offer amazing game viewing with experienced guides.
Stay in a Safari Tent and enjoy the best of camping in this accommodation where its large bed for two people will make you forget that you are in a tent. Relax on its outdoor terrace in the shade of the pines and observe how it blends into the natural environment of the campsite. Enjoy an unforgettable experience and let yourself be carried away by the adventure.
Game Drives (Main Activity)
Morning & afternoon game drives in a shared 4x4 safari vehicle (pop-up roof for better viewing). Spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) and other wildlife. In the Serengeti, witness the Great Migration (seasonal, mainly July-October). In Ngorongoro Crater, see dense wildlife in a natural caldera.
Camping in Public Campsites
Stay in basic dome tents (usually 2-3 people per tent). Sleep on foam mattresses (bring a sleeping bag or rent one). Use shared campsite facilities (toilets & showers, sometimes with cold water only).
Bush Meals (Prepared by Safari Cook)
Breakfast: Eggs, toast, fruits, coffee/tea (sometimes packed for early game drives). Lunch: Picnic-style (sandwiches, salads, grilled chicken). Dinner: Hot meals like stews, rice, pasta, BBQ meat (depends on the operator).
